I am proud of all of my students! They constantly remind me of the many reasons why I chose a life in music. Many former students have been accepted into competitive greater Detroit area programs such as MPulse Flute Institute, Michigan Youth Ensemble, Detroit Civic Orchestra, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, Interlochen Arts Camp, and have received superior ratings in Solo and Ensemble at local and state levels. Former high school students have auditioned into Michigan State University, Chicago University, Wayne State University, and Spring Arbor University.

I offer weekly lessons in 30-minute, 45-minute, or hour sessions. Tuition is due monthly at the first lesson of each month.  Click here to reach me for information regarding availability, lesson rates, and studio location.

My private studio in Des Moines is a safe and productive environment for students of all ages, abilities, and lifestyles to grow as flute players and musicians. Our weekly lessons allow me to supplement the student's at-home practice through repertoire coaching, supervised scale studies, intonation practice, and duet sight reading. In addition to flute playing, lessons include activities that engage other parts of our bodies and minds: singing, dancing, drawing, writing, coloring, and composing can all be powerful tools for different kinds of learners.

Consistent at-home practice and parental support is crucial for the growth of each student. I carefully design a fun and efficient practice routine for each student that fits his or her individual needs and evolves as the student evolves. I ask parents to get involved by encouraging students to stay on schedule and to log their work in a notebook dedicated to flute. Parents are welcome to sit in on any lessons.

My studio puts on two recitals in Des Moines, one in December and one in June. All of my students are encouraged to perform a piece with piano accompaniment on one or both recitals.
